Proton is hiring a Senior Product Manager to lead the development of a new privacy-first community product. You will define the strategy and drive execution for a platform that prioritizes user trust and agency.
Job Description
Proton, founded by CERN scientists, is building a better internet where privacy is the default. As a Senior Product Manager, you will lead the development of a new product at the intersection of strategy, community dynamics, and Proton's mission to give people control over their digital lives. This role offers the chance to build community experiences that respect user agency rather than exploiting attention.
Your tasks- Define and drive the end-to-end product strategy and roadmap, from first principles to shipped features.
- Own key metrics such as activation, engagement, retention, and community health, setting targets and course-correcting based on data.
- Translate knowledge of online community mechanics, including growth loops and moderation, into a clear product point of view.
- Lead cross-functional execution with a team of engineers, designers, and data specialists, maintaining velocity and focusing on outcomes.
- Drive structured discovery through user research and competitive analysis to keep decisions grounded in real behavior.
Your profile- 10+ years of product management experience, with significant time spent on social, messaging, or community platforms.
- Deep understanding of community product mechanics, including engagement loops, content moderation, and network effects.
- Analytical sharpness to define success in numbers and run structured experiments while maintaining user intuition.
- Strong, direct communication skills to write and speak with precision and keep stakeholders aligned.
- Proven ability to lead a product autonomously, identifying the right problems and driving them to completion without a pre-defined roadmap.
What we offer- Work that matters, answering only to users and not to advertisers or investors.
- A diverse, collaborative team of high-caliber professionals from leading organizations.
- Stock options from day one, strong health coverage, and generous leave policies.
- Flexible working hours where outcomes matter more than clock-in times.
- Coverage of public transport, bike allowances, or parking, plus daily lunch and snacks in the office.
