Job Description

Proton, founded by CERN scientists, is building a better internet where privacy is the default. As a Senior Android Software Engineer in our Geneva office, you will join a high-impact product team working on tools like Proton Mail, Drive, and VPN. You will collaborate with product, design, and engineering teams to ship high-quality Android experiences using Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, and an increasingly shared Rust core.

Your tasks

• Build and ship high-quality Android applications using Kotlin and Jetpack Compose.
• Take end-to-end ownership of features, from scoping and technical design to delivery.
• Develop maintainable, scalable, and testable mobile architectures.
• Mentor engineers and raise the technical bar within the team.
• Optimize performance, concurrency, and mobile memory management.

Your profile

• Extensive experience building Android applications with Kotlin.
• Strong experience with Jetpack Compose and modern Android practices.
• Deep care for product quality, usability, and exceptional user experiences.
• Experience with large codebases and cross-team collaboration.
• Strong understanding of performance, concurrency, and offline behaviour.
• Experience with privacy, security, encryption, or Rust is a plus.
