Summary

Architect the backend for Verified Autonomous Remediation at SonarSource in Geneva. Design high-throughput systems that bridge the trust gap in AI-generated code.

Job Description

SonarSource is a leader in AI code review and verification, helping enterprises build reliable software in an agent-centric development cycle. As a Senior or Staff Engineer, you will join our team in Geneva to architect the backend for Verified Autonomous Remediation. Your goal is to close the "Trust Gap" by creating systems that rigorously test and validate AI-generated code.

Your tasks

• Architect the Unified Remediation Engine, designing high-throughput decision logic that routes requests between deterministic fixes, LLM-based reasoning, and agentic flows.
• Build robust agent architectures, transitioning research concepts into resilient, high-scale production services with self-healing workflows.
• Solve sandboxing challenges by architecting secure execution environments and isolation layers for untrusted, AI-generated code.
• Implement safety mechanisms such as circuit breakers and manage cost-performance trade-offs to ensure AWS architecture scales efficiently.
• Mentor the squad through design reviews and collaborate with the research team to ensure production safety.

Your profile

• 8+ years of experience building scalable, resilient backend systems with strong AWS architecture expertise.
• Polyglot skills in Java and Python, with deep integration knowledge for the core analysis engine and AI reasoning layers.
• Systems thinking capability for asynchronous event-driven architectures, queue management, and sandboxed execution.
• Practical experience orchestrating LLMs and understanding backend complexities like RAG and context window management.
• A data-driven mindset focused on building telemetry pipelines to distinguish between UX issues and code quality.

What we offer

• A role based in Geneva with relocation support for the right candidate.
• Work in a global, profitable company with over $400M in revenue, operating across hubs in Austin, Bochum, Dubai, London, Singapore, Tokyo, and Washington D.C.
• A diverse and inclusive environment where you can build at a fast pace at the forefront of the AI software revolution.
