Job Description
Proton, founded by CERN scientists, is building a better internet where privacy is the default. As a profitable and independent company, we serve millions of users globally with encrypted services like Proton Mail and VPN. We are looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer to join our DevOps Platform team, which builds and scales the developer tooling and infrastructure used by hundreds of engineers.
Your tasks
- Own and scale CI/CD infrastructure that handles tens of thousands of jobs daily, including capacity planning and runner architecture.
- Deepen GitOps workflows built on ArgoCD, focusing on operational improvements and cluster state management.
- Advance our supply chain security posture, specifically regarding SAST and artifact attestation.
- Troubleshoot complex infrastructure problems across network, application, and system layers.
Your profile
- Strong Kubernetes experience, including tuning and troubleshooting on-prem Linux systems under load.
- Hands-on CI/CD background, with GitLab CI being a plus.
- Practical GitOps experience, ideally with ArgoCD.
- Software development skills in Python, Golang, or Rust to build and maintain infrastructure tooling.
- Experience with configuration management using Ansible and/or Terraform.
- A security mindset grounded in DevSecOps practices, with supply chain security experience being an advantage.
- Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively across teams and document work clearly.
