Job Description

Join SonarSource, a leader in AI code verification and governance, as a Data Scientist in our Data & Insights team. Operating from our Geneva hub, you will decode customer behaviors and transform product engagement into actionable intelligence. Your mission is to bridge the gap between product adoption and commercial data, constructing a holistic view of user health and the tangible value we provide to over 75% of the Fortune 100.

Your tasks

• Understand product usage by working closely with product managers to analyze adoption patterns, feature usage, and retention.
• Connect usage data to customer and sales data to reveal relationships with expansion, churn risk, and account health.
• Define usage-based signals, such as health indicators, that drive activation, retention, and expansion.
• Run experiments and validate hypotheses using sound statistical methods to test which usage signals predict outcomes.
• Partner with Data and Analytics Engineers to architect foundational data models and ensure product and sales data are well-modeled in the warehouse.
• Communicate insights clearly to stakeholders, documenting context and caveats to ensure the work survives handoffs.

Your profile

• Deep product understanding and a track record of influencing revenue, product, or Go-to-Market decisions through analysis.
• Solid SQL skills for independent data exploration and proficiency in Python for analysis, modeling, and automation.
• Experience with ML and statistical libraries such as scikit-learn or statsmodels for modeling and inference.
• Statistical foundation in experimentation, significance testing, regression, and segmentation.
• Working knowledge of how product usage connects to revenue, including funnels, cohorts, and account health.
• Strong communication skills to challenge weak measurement respectfully and make clear recommendations.
• Proactivity and autonomy, with a willingness to get hands-on with data modeling and messy data.

What we offer

• An in-office culture where we believe the best teams are built in the room together.
• Opportunity to work at the forefront of the AI software revolution with a fast-paced, profitable company.
• A global team operating across hubs including Geneva, Austin, London, and Tokyo.
