Job Description

Join On in Zurich as a Specialist - Accessories Developer, focusing on technical bags and soft goods. You will report to the Lead - Accessories Development and support the Global Product function by driving product creation from concept through commercialization. This role requires a process-driven mindset and deep expertise in pattern making, construction techniques, and technical materials to ensure products meet On’s exacting standards for design, quality, and performance.

Your tasks

• Develop Tech Packs including technical drawings, material specifications, and Bill of Materials documentation using Adobe Illustrator and PLM systems.
• Create innovative construction techniques that balance design intent with target FOB, gross margins, and durability guidelines.
• Analyze 2D patterns and 3D mock-ups to optimize product ergonomics, volume, and performance.
• Lead fit, function, and sample review sessions, documenting technical comments and communicating adjustments to global factory partners.
• Resolve technical and structural challenges through advanced bonding, stitching, and assembly techniques.
• Manage the development process for Inline and Special Projects to meet seasonal calendar milestones.

Your profile

• 5+ years of experience dedicated exclusively to the development of accessories, specifically bags and backpacks.
• Proven track record in sports and high-end performance gear, with an understanding of athletic use rigors.
• Experience in performance and lifestyle bags and packs is highly desirable.
• Proficiency in translating 2D design concepts into 3D performance realities using advanced PLM systems and Adobe Illustrator.
• Experience collaborating with world-class manufacturers in global sourcing.
• Meticulous attention to detail regarding measurements, tolerances, and material specifications.
