Job Description

Helvetia Beteiligungen AG is seeking a Reinsurance Manager to act as the central competence hub for reinsurance treaty cessions across assigned business units and group protections. Based in Basel, the role is available at 50–100% capacity.

• Organize and take part in meetings with business units, brokers, and reinsurers
• Set up and manage reinsurance treaties, handling the full process with supporting systems and practices
• Secure underwriting data such as premiums, portfolio and risk profiles, claims, and NatCat figures in coordination with the Risk Assessment team
• Analyze and review data to prepare underwriting information for the applicable lines of business and programs
• Negotiate treaty terms and conditions with internal business units and third-party reinsurers
• Serve as account handler for dedicated reinsurance contracts, including premium and claims accounting
• Build and maintain relationships with partners both within and outside the Helvetia Group

• University degree in economics or law, or an apprenticeship/trainee qualification in (re)insurance or a relevant field
• Experience in a comparable role or as a (Senior) Underwriter in reinsurance treaty business
• Fluent in German and English; additional languages are a plus
• Ability to present to internal and external audiences
• Strong analytical, quantitative, and decision-making skills
• Excellent negotiation and communication abilities
• Team player who thrives in demanding situations and collaborates effectively with senior managers and key stakeholders
